Put your slow cooker to work and make this insanely delicious meal. It's made with gooey cheese, Kielbasa sausage, onion, cream of chicken soup and milk. It's perfect for summertime when you don't want to turn on the oven.
32 oz. bag hash browns, thawed *
18 oz. Kielbasa sausage, cut into pieces
1 small onion, diced
1/2 c. butter, melted
2 1/2 c. shredded cheese, divided (like a mix of Monterey Jack and Cheddar or favorite cheeses)
10.5 oz. can cream of chicken soup or favorite cream of soup
1 c. whole milk
1/2 c. heavy cream
1 t. black pepper
1/2 t. onion powder
Combine hash browns, seasonings, Kielbasa, onion, and 2 c. shredded cheese in a greased slow cooker; stir.
In a bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, butter, heavy cream and milk; pour over hash brown mix; stir.
Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
Cook on High for 3 hours.
6-8 servings.
* You can replace the plain hash browns with hash browns with peppers and onions and then omit the onion in this recipe.
