These French Dip Biscuits make a great appetizer, lunch or even a light dinner. They are made with canned refrigerated biscuits, deli roast beef and cheese, served with Au Jus Gravy and/or mustard.
16.3 oz. can refrigerated biscuits (8 count)
1 lb. thinly sliced deli roast beef
2 T. creamy horseradish, or to taste
8 slices Provolone, Swiss, Cheddar, or Mozzarella cheese
1 oz. packet Au Jus Gravy mix
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Open biscuit can; separate each biscuit into 2 layers, making 16 biscuit pieces. Spread each layer with horseradish.
Top half of the biscuit layers with a slice of provolone cheese and roast beef; top the meat and cheese with the remaining biscuits; pinch the edges to seal. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake 12 - 15 minutes, until golden brown.
While the biscuits are baking, prepare the Au Jus Gravy mix according to the package directions.
Serve with additional dipping sauces like spicy mustard or honey mustard, if desired.
Makes 8 biscuits.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator, wrapped individually. Reheat in the oven for best results.
*To Make in Advance: Assemble the biscuits up to 4 hours in advance. Refrigerate until ready to bake.
