Description
If you have an hour, you have time to make this wonderful German meal. The pork chops are juicy and tender and the sauerkraut gives the dish a little bit of a tang. Serve with mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
Ingredients
- boneless, center cut pork chops (about 3 to 3 1/2 lb.)
- 2 lb. sauerkraut, drained
- 1 large red apple, diced
- 1 small yellow onion, chopped
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- dash cinnamon
- mashed potatoes, for serving, if desired
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown pork chops on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Place the pork chops in an 9×13 baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together sauerkraut, apple, onion, brown sugar and cinnamon; spread on top of the pork chops. Cover baking dish with aluminum foil.
