6 T. butter
3 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
3 eggs
1 c. granulated sugar
1 t. vanilla extract
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 t. baking powder
1/4 t. salt
hot fudge, for serving
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a pie plate or a 9 inch spring form pan.
In a heat safe bowl, melt butter and 2 c. chocolate chips together until smooth in the microwave at 50% power in 30 second intervals or use a double boiler. Let cool.
Use an electric mixer to beat eggs, sugar, and vanilla together on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Stir/mix in the cooled chocolate.
Fold in flour, baking powder and salt until just combined. Mix in remaining 1 c. chocolate chips.
Pour into prepared pan or pie plate.*
Bake for 40-45 minutes until the center is puffed. The top might crack.
Remove from oven. Let cool completely.
Serve, topped with hot fudge.
10 servings.
*Tip: If using a pie plate, use about 3/4 of the batter, otherwise it will be too full.
