Ingredients
- Chicken:
- 2 lb. boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 t. salt
- pinch black pepper
- 2 T. canola oil divided, plus more for frying
- 1/2 c. corn starch
- 1/4 c. flour
- Orange Sauce:
- 1 T. corn starch
- 2 T. rice wine
- 2 T. water
- 1/4 c. orange juice
- 1 t. sesame oil
- 1/4 c. soy sauce
- 4 T. white sugar
- 4 T. brown sugar
- 8 T. white vinegar
- zest from 1 orange
- 1 T. ginger root, minced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 t. red pepper flakes
- cooked rice, for serving
Steps
- Orange Sauce: Combine all of the orange sauce ingredients in a bowl; whisk; set aside.
- Chicken: Add the egg, salt, pepper, and 1 T. oil to a shallow bowl; whisk.
- In a second shallow bowl, add 1/2 c. corn starch and flour; stir well.
