Description
This dish is great as an appetizer, but is hearty enough for a meal, if desired. Serve with sour cream, guacalmole, black olives...it's up to you!
Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 8 oz. sour cream
- 3/4 c. mayo
- 1 envelope taco seasoning, your choice of mildness
- 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
- 2 c. shredded cheddar cheese, Mexican blend
- 4 c. shredded lettuce
- 2 medium tomatoes, diced
- 1 small onion, diced or 1/2 bunch green onions
- 1 medium green pepper, diced
- tortilla chips
- additional sour cream or guacamole, for garnish (optional)
Steps
- In a small bowl, beat cream cheese, sour cream and mayo until smooth. Spread mixture on a 12-14 inch pizza pan or serving dish. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, brown beef; drain. Add taco seasoning and tomato sauce; cook and stir for 5 minutes. Cool completely. Spread over cream cheese layer. Refrigerate.
- Right before serving, sprinkle with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onion and green pepper. Serve with chips.
