Description

This dish is great as an appetizer, but is hearty enough for a meal, if desired. Serve with sour cream, guacalmole, black olives...it's up to you!

Ingredients

• 1 lb. lean ground beef
• 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
• 8 oz. sour cream
• 3/4 c. mayo
• 1 envelope taco seasoning, your choice of mildness
• 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
• 2 c. shredded cheddar cheese, Mexican blend
• 4 c. shredded lettuce
• 2 medium tomatoes, diced
• 1 small onion, diced or 1/2 bunch green onions
• 1 medium green pepper, diced
• tortilla chips
• additional sour cream or guacamole, for garnish (optional)

Steps

1. In a small bowl, beat cream cheese, sour cream and mayo until smooth. Spread mixture on a 12-14 inch pizza pan or serving dish. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
2. In a saucepan over medium heat, brown beef; drain. Add taco seasoning and tomato sauce; cook and stir for 5 minutes. Cool completely. Spread over cream cheese layer. Refrigerate.
3. Right before serving, sprinkle with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onion and green pepper. Serve with chips.
